Create that Perfect Smile!

If your teeth are stained, broken, or shaped in a way that is not pleasing to you, then you may want to consider porcelain laminate veneers to enhance your smile. Veneers are very thin coverings that are custom made from porcelain for concealing the surfaces of your teeth. These "shells" are permanently bonded to your teeth. They can make uneven teeth even, make discoloured teeth appear white, fill gaps between teeth, and make broken teeth appear whole. Porcelain veneers are the most natural-looking choice among cosmetic restorations. Even though veneers are a thin covering, they are extremely strong & durable. With proper maintenance, veneers can last for many years!

Q. How are veneers applied?
A. Veneers are attached directly to your existing teeth. Applying veneers is a 2-visit procedure. During your first visit, your teeth will be prepared by removing a very thin layer of enamel. A mold of your teeth will also be made in order for the veneers to be custom designed for your mouth. At the second appointment, your teeth are conditioned with a mild solution. The veneers are then bonded to your teeth with tooth coloured blue that is hardened with a high intensity light. Then your veneers are polished to blend with your other teeth.

Q. Do Veneers need special care?
A. You should care for your veneers just as you would your natural teeth to keep them looking as good as new. They should be brushed after each meal, before bedtime & flossed daily. Veneers don't take kindly to nail biting or opening bobby pins. They are not recommended for people who grind their teeth.

Q. What are the advantages of veneers?

  1. Application of veneers is a virtually painless procedure sometimes done with no anesthetic.
  2. Veneers can cover broken teeth, uneven teeth, or fill in gaps between teeth.
  3. Veneers usually require only a very small amount of enamel to be removed.
  4. The end result gives the tooth a healthy, natural look & you won't experience any discomfort in the process!
